The consumer team at Merisis strives to identify these trends early on and assist companies in the identified sub-segments with their growth plans. The team has extensive experience in fundraising and M&A transactions across the consumer sector – be it in products, services or channels. The Consumer team works hand in hand with all the other verticals in order to provide a consumer’s perspective to the offering.

Vijay Iyer
Managing Director

Vijay Iyer is the Managing Director of ValueBridge Capital, an early-stage fundraising group company of Merisis Advisors. He also leads the Consumer Practice at Merisis Advisors. His work experience spans 24+ years, both as an entrepreneur and a professional. He is an operator turned Investment Banker with a rich entrepreneurial background and extensive work experience across consumer conglomerates like Procter & Gamble. He has also worked with Deloitte and HCL Talent Care. He holds a B. Tech from NIT, Jamshedpur and an MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Darshan Shah
Vice President

Darshan leads the Transportation and Consumer practice at Merisis along with Sumir Verma and Vijay Iyer respectively. He comes with 8 years of Investment Banking experience. He has done his MS-GM from Thunderbird School of Global Management, USA and BTech-IT from VJTI, Mumbai. He is a CFA® Charterholder (CFAI, USA).

Shanil Vasa
AVP and Head

Shanil Vasa heads the consumer vertical for Merisis Advisors and is based in Mumbai. He has over 7 years of investment banking experience in the consumer sector across early and growth-stage fundraising as well as M&As. Prior to joining Merisis, he worked for 5 years at InCorp (India). At InCorp, he was responsible for the end-to-end execution of deals involving startups as well as listed companies. Prior to InCorp, Shanil was with Chokshi & Chokshi, where he headed various statutory, and internal audits and due diligence and conducted valuation exercises. He is a Chartered Accountant from India.
